Roles and activities

Our activities that support and promote your efforts in adult and community learning include:

Promotion, Advocacy and Lobbying

the Action for Adult Learning Campaign designed to raise the profile of our members and other adult and community learning and education providers. By joining with us in this campaign we can build a strong collective voice in Queensland; and,
the on-line "Directory of Adult and Community Learning". This is a tool that support individual educators and organisations and helps build learning communities. If you have not yet done so, we invite you to include yourself and / or organization in this free directory. You are also able to include the courses and learning programs you offer, and update your information at your leisure; and,
representation on various committees, for example, Adult Learners Week Queensland Steering Committee, amongst others; and,
networking and collaboration with a range of other organisations, such as Australian Learning Communities Network, Volunteering Queensland, and Adult Learning Australia.

Management and organisational support

Group Insurance Scheme. This is available to Lifelong Learning Council Queensland members only.

Professional development

"Course in Financial and other resources for ACE" and other continuing education offered on an occasional basis; and,
bi-monthly workshop/information sessions as part of networking events.

Community and network development

Community of Practice project, currently being piloted. This is a self- and peer- review process for organisations that offer learning programs of any type in the community. It is also a marketing and branding strategy. In the future we plan to extend this to individual adult and community educators, trainers, facilitators, etc. You are welcome to become involved in this project; and,
bi-monthly networking events to help people meet with others in the field.

the Website which includes our publications. This is currently being redeveloped to offer a wider range of information; and,
